Description
A man; stripped of something he held dearly in his heart. His love, his lost love, gone forever. And he could do nothing to avoid the inevitable, to do something to prevent what happened in that melancholy evening.
His dreams, often repeated, the same thing, over and over again. "Where have you gone, my love?" She's there but, then she's gone again. His mind keeps replaying the dreams, the memories, wistful, depressing memories, as if it were a broken record player. All he could ever do was watch the memories as they replayed in his head, over, and over.
"I miss her."
Shutting himself in his home, the only place he feels secure, a safe haven of memories that could never be lost. Weeks, months; he wasn't even sure what year it was, what day or what time it was. His windows always remained closed, his home hardly tended to, hardly ever coming out into the cold winter air. With materials strewn about his room, he created something, something he'd hoped would stop the endless replay of dreams, dreams that he would wake up from, trembing, tears falling from his eyes. It was something that he thought would help; a dream catcher. Constructed with lavender, a color and plant with meanings of romance, or nostalgia. Both these thoughts hung in his mind, as he tied the dream catcher above his bed, and tiredly lay atop it; cold, cold without her, without his love. His lost love.
The feelings surrounding the dream catcher, so strong, a soul, a sad, depressing soul, was brought forth and became the embodiment of the dream catcher, the kitsumera. However, this was no ordinary kitsumera; a nightmare kitsumera, whom took dreams, good or bad, and would turn those dreams into something called a nightmare. This was what the kitsumera was, what they were created for, their only purpose.
"Things are so much worse, worse than anything that I could ever take.."
The man woke, more afraid, more sad, depressed than he ever felt in his life. An aura surrounded that dream catcher. It was almost a sacred aura, he didn't need to learn what that aura meant, how it would affect him. It was almost as if there was no other escape, no way out of his day-to-day remembrance of his love, his lost love... the one who died before him. The one who left him. He was not one to be unforgiving. He was never unforgiving of her when she passed.
"Trust me, my love; I'm going to see you again, I'll see you, and we'll.."
A bottle of pills in his hand, tipped downward to drop several of the little tablets into the other.
"We'll be together.. It'll be wonderful.."
Downing them, he lay on his back, on his bed, once cold; now, he felt a presence, comforting and warming.
"I'll be so.. glad to.. have you with me, again.."
A suffocating tiredness washed over him, that sent him into one of the most comforting wafts of sleep he had in months, years, even.
To this day, a kitsumera, the same kitsumera, wanders the world, not too understanding of what the man had tried to do. It was trying to help him, help him find his love, his lost love. It didn't want to disappoint him, didn't want to appear as the type who'd give up after searching just once. Every night, it rests, believing his love still needs him, and they're still out there, waiting, waiting for him. The man who she'd spent the rest of her life with.
